The importance of a good watch
Why have I never understood the appeal of a fancy watch? I’m sure I’m not the only one who occasionally plays “yeah?” Games. with my career. And I’m equally confident that I’m not alone in one of my regular what-ifs beings, “What if I’d like to become a banker?”
Sure, it would be hard work and long hours. But that’s how your own business works. In fact, for me, working in finance meant more money and less stress and personal risk. For the moment, I’m going to buy a house. I had turned right out of the university and entered JP Morgan, I would not be faffing around with a mortgage, I would buy the place, outright, probably as part of the portfolio I was building up to give me something to do when I retire next year.
I was reflecting along these lines when a supplement clock fell out of the magazine I was reading. I was reminded of something I’ve been told so many times that it must be true: when the City of Children gets its first big bonus, go out and buy a silly fast car or an expensive watch. And then I thought of all those braying, pink-jacketed Canary Wharf dudes, with their gleaming watch-sized rings, and I realized that I would never have cut like a banker. You see, I’m not that impressed for less than € 20,000 watches.
There is something deeply strange and at the same time offensive about expensive watches. The flashy car, I understand. A £ 50,000 Jaguar F Type is far better than a Ford Mondeo car by virtually any criteria except fuel consumption. The high price is reflected in the quality of its design and construction. The driving experience is totally different.
But an expensive watch is not necessarily the best watch. Let’s take an Omega Seamaster. If you want a nice watch, I would say that this is all the watch you need. It meets all the important watch boxes and is a great classic. You can pick them up very cheap second-hand and I have bought several and they are fantastic.
Huawei Watch
At first, glance, what most catches our attention about the Huawei Watch is its design with a totally round dial, with three cases to choose from (black, gold, and silver), and an interchangeable leather or plastic strap. An aspect that until now had not been taken into account by any company is having straps of various sizes, which makes it easier for the Huawei Watch to adapt to both men’s and women’s wrists
It is a smartwatch with a touch screen and a button located on the crown of the watch, among its features we find a heart rate monitor, a microphone to be able to give orders to Google Now, accelerometers, and a barometer (to measure altitude). The Huawei Watch has a Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of hard disk. Huawei has not yet confirmed a release date but it is expected to be available mid-year
